Role and missions of the cinema, film and TV distributor

The distributor plays a strategic role in the life of a film or series. Their aim is to give maximum visibility to a work by placing it with exhibitors, streaming platforms, TV channels and festivals. A true architect of the encounter between a creation and its audience, he or she designs and implements the distribution strategy.

Distributors work with producers to promote their works, with exhibitors to organize theatrical releases, with programming managers to position content, and with press attachés and marketing agencies for promotion.

In the production chain, it is the essential link between production and the viewer. Without an effective distribution strategy, even a quality work risks remaining invisible. The distributor transforms creation into commercial and cultural success.
