This hybrid role combines the creativity of the author with the strategic vision of the producer. He defines the narrative line, supervises scripts, oversees writing teams, steers production and ensures artistic consistency from start to finish. In a global market where streaming platforms and broadcasters are vying for originality, the showrunner has become a key player capable of transforming an idea into a coherent, captivating universe.

The showrunner's role and missions

The showrunner collaborates daily with screenwriters, writing coordinators, directors, executive producers and broadcasters. They must also interact with post-production and distributors to ensure a smooth flow between creation and broadcast. These interactions make him the linchpin linking all the links in the production chain.
