The cinematographer is responsible for the creative and technical aspects of shooting, and for the artistic quality of the image.
On a shoot, the cinematographer is in charge of the lighting to render the tones, colors and even emotions according to the director's expectations, as well as the framing.
The role and duties of the location manager
He is the chief sound operator. Since the advent of multi-track recorders, he has become more independent from the camera.
He ensures that takes are properly recorded on set. He supervises the mixer for microphone levels and recording on digital tape recorders. He is also responsible for storing the sound material collected during the filming of a movie or TV series.
