The front-of-house sound engineer is responsible for mixing and broadcasting sound to the public at a concert, show or live event.
He installs microphones, consoles, loudspeakers and configures broadcast systems according to the characteristics of the venue (acoustics, capacity, stage).
Role and missions of the Front of House Sound Engineer
An essential part of a concert or performance, the sound engineer manages the sound system in the hall for the audience. They make sure that everyone in the audience gets the best possible sound.
His role is therefore vital. He has artistic, technical and human skills, as he ensures the cohesion of the entire technical team.
On a set like "The Voice", the front-of-house engineer makes sure that the audience can hear the contestants as clearly as possible, while a control room sound engineer ensures that the sound is properly transmitted to the TV.
