The mixing engineer is responsible for combining all the different sound elements of a recorded piece of music into a final version, and balancing the different parts to achieve the desired effect.
Its mission is to record and ensure sound quality for shows, concerts, album recordings and audiovisual productions.
Role and missions of a mixing engineer
The post-production sound engineer is responsible for recovering the sound elements recorded for a project (sound effects, voices, music...) for mixing.
He pre-mixes the dialogues and then incorporates the sound tracks to bring the right aesthetic to a film, in agreement with the director.
