Role and missions of the sound recording operator (OPS)
The OPS is the technician dispatched to events. He conducts interviews, mainly for journalistic purposes.
Their job is that of a reporter left to his own devices. They have to go to the location of the subject of their report, set up their installation and carry out their sound recordings and interviews themselves. They are then responsible for sound editing and final radio mixing, and must deliver a file ready for broadcast.
