The sound mastering engineer is the guarantor of the final quality of a track before its broadcast.
Mastering engineers use their technical expertise and exceptional ears to make the final adjustments to a recorded piece of music before its release, enhancing its impact and ensuring that it translates well into the variety of playback systems used today.
Role and missions of the mastering sound engineer
Its role is to give a certain color to tracks, and to make them homogeneous in level whatever the listening support - HIFI speakers, headphones, computer speakers, cell phones, etc. - is used.
Mastering took off with the CD in the 80s. It's the last touch-up before the album is burned and released commercially.
