Produced by independent label 24 Tracks Records and ESRA radio students, "The Mission Mix Contest" is an original event featuring the production of a common musical mix for all participants, the "Multitracks".
Each project will be broadcast on the school's radio station , Esradio ISTS. The projects must meet certain constraints, and are put to the test of three professional juries made up of three teachers, three students and a VIP juror with a "GOLDEN BUZZER".
The competition has 4 phases:
- 48-hour phase
The competition runs from Saturday, May 9 at 10am to Monday, May 11 at 10am. Divided into 6 pools of 3 projects, each project can be carried out solo, in pairs or more. Teams must respect the technical and artistic constraints of their pool:
No use of automation ▪︎ Obligation to play with contrasts in dynamics and space ▪︎ Limit to 3 inserts per slice ▪︎ Give the impression of a Live Mix ▪︎ Use of Reverb forbidden ▪︎ Obligation to use the software's native plug-ins ▪︎ Obligation to rearrange the project ▪︎ Only work in parallel compression.
- Phase Battle
Each mix is anonymous and listened to beforehand by members of the jury off-site. From Tuesday May 12 onwards, Esradio will broadcast the mixes of one group every day at 3pm. The first battle takes place on Wednesday May 20 at 6.30pm, and the second battle on Saturday May 23 at 6pm.
Three voting systems are in place. A score out of 10 by the jury, a score out of 10 by the listeners and a Golden Buzzer for the VIP jury. The winner of each pool advances to the final.
- Final Phase
The winners face off in a final match on Wednesday May 27 at 6pm. This time, the voting system is based on points. Each juror must then choose the three projects he or she has found to be the best according to the ranking. Finally, the PUBLIC can vote for their favorite mix, via the dedicated platform, and each head vote counts as one point. The finalist with the most points wins.
- La Victoire
The lucky winner takes part in the "Golden Fader Mix Contest", and his or her mix will be featured on the CD produced by "24TracksRecords", as well as the creation of a PAD in his or her name, retracing the winner's journey on Esradio, broadcast three times at times to suit him or her (under the direction of the on-air director).
