Storyboarder's role and missions
The animation storyboarder is the person who translates the script into sequential images. Even before the sets or characters are produced, he or she imagines the shots, camera movements and narrative rhythm. The storyboard is the first concrete visualization of the film, serving as a guide for the entire team and forming the backbone of the animation.
The storyboarder must know how to condense a story into simple yet expressive images, capable of conveying the emotion and dynamics of the scene. It's a creative and strategic role, at the crossroads of scriptwriting and directing.
