▪︎ Screening ofIda LUPINO's film Outrage, presented by Yola LE CAÏNEC, a teacher at the Lycée Chateaubriand in Rennes, France, and associate researcher at the Laboratoire d'Études Cinématographiques, Université Rennes 2. Ida LUPINO is a pioneer of American cinema: independent, committed and feminist, she began her career as an actress before establishing herself as a director, screenwriter and producer. In her films, she tackled unconventional subjects such as rape, adultery and illness.
▪︎ Screening ofGeorge CUKOR'sUne étoile est née, orchestrated by ESRA students with film studies students from Lycée Chateaubriand. Followed by a discussion with Yola LE CAÏNEC, film historian and George CUKER specialist, on the musical Une étoile est née and its history.
▪︎ Meet documentary filmmaker Gilles PERRET, author of some twenty films and known for his politically and socially engaged works on the Resistance and the beginnings of social security. He is co-directing two films with François RUFFIN J'veux du soleil about the yellow vest movement, and Debout les femmes! which will be released in cinemas on October 27, 2021.
