To mark the release of his latest film HIGH LIFEdirector Claire DENIS met with ESRA Côte d'Azur students at a masterclass on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
Nominated at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2018, HIGH LIFE heralds a sci-fi feature starring Robert PATTINSON, Juliette BINOCHE and André BENJAMIN. Drawing on her experience on more than thirty fiction and documentary features and shorts, Claire DENIS explained how her desire to direct came about before detailing how she conceives the work of writing a screenplay.
Claire DENIS has previously directed a number of feature films, including UN BEAU SOLEIL INTERIEUR (2017), awarded at the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, LES SALAUDS (2013), the series SUITE NOIRE (2009), 35 RHUMS (2008), WHITE MATERIAL (2010) awarded at the Brutus du cinéma 2011 and at the Festival du Film de Cabourg - Journées romantiques 2010 (edition n°24), FRIDAY NIGHT (2002), TROUBLE EVERY DAY (2001) and BEAU TRAVAIL (2000), for which Agnès GODARD won the César for Best Photography at the 2001 César Awards.
