Director and producer Louis LETERRIER took part in ESRA Thursday on April 11. The film Fast and Furious 10, released on May 17, 2023, was shown to the students before the meeting.
Born to a director father and an art director mother, Louis LETERRIER started out as a drummer in a music band before moving into directing short films. At the age of 18, he decided to study film at New York University. In 1997, he assisted Jean-Pierre JEUNET on the set of Alien, la résurrection. He also worked as second assistant to Alain CHABAT on Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (2001).
Louis LETERRIER is renowned for his French blockbusters(Le Transporteur, Danny the Dog, Le Transporteur 2) and American blockbusters (The Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans, Insaisissables, Fast and Furious 10). He is one of the few French directors, along with Luc BESSON and Thomas LANGMANN, to have directed productions with budgets in excess of $100 million. When Fast and Furious 10 is released in May 2023, it is announced that Louis LETERRIER will direct the sequel, Fast and Furious 11, scheduled for 2025.
In January 2017, he was a member of the jury chaired by Jean-paul ROUVE at the 24th Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival. He directs several episodes of the Netflix series starring Omar SY, Lupin, dans l'ombre d'Arsène, released in early 2021. In January 2021, he announces that he will direct the sequel to De l'autre côté du périph.
