Each year, the Storytelling Institute's Annual Selection supports six feature film projects during the Cannes Film Festival. Selected screenwriters are coached by mentors from the UCLA TFT School, Université Côte d'Azur and Canal+ Group creative teams. They write their screenplays on the annual theme proposed by Canal+ and program partner Vivendi.

This year, the six scriptwriters will be mentored by Jacques Akchoti, screenwriter of "Les Filles du Soleil", "Diane a les épaules" and "Thelma", and Yann Apperry, novelist of "Diabolus in musica", Prix Medicis in 2000, and "Farrago", Prix Goncourt des lycéens in 2003. The residency has been exceptionally extended until next February.

Lily LANDECY (ESRA 2019) directed "La Chrysalide " in her third year at ESRA, which won Best Film, Best Screenplay, the Jury President's Special Prize and the Special Festival Prize at the Professional Jury in June 2019.

"La Chrysalide" also won Best Short Film at the Corto Creativo Short Film Festival in Mexico, Best International Direction at the Canberra Short Film Festival in Australia, and Best Actress and Best Dramatic Short Film at the Queen Palm International Film Festival in the USA.
