Feature film adventure with Lucie DE CHEVIGNY

10 March 2020

On March 10, as part of our L'Aventure d'un Long Métrage (ALM) program, we welcomed Lucie DE CHEVIGNY, Head of Communications at SND Distribution, distributor of the film "De Gaulle".

Lucie DE CHEVIGNY is in charge of theatrical distribution and international exports. SND notably distributed " Yves Saint Laurent" by Jalil LESPERT, starring Pierre NINEY, Guillaume GALLIENNE and Charlotte LE BON, "Lion by Garth DAVIS, nominated for an Oscar, as well as "La Confession by Nicolas BOUKHRIEF with Romain DURIS and Marine VATCH.

During a Masterclass, she talked about her work as a distributor, which begins as soon as the contract is signed with the production company. The distributor's role is to arouse public interest, create awareness of the film and encourage people to go and see it in cinemas. The whole promotional process begins with filming, when we need to obtain images of the actors in their make-up and costumes, as well as the sets that can be used to design the poster. It's also time to bring in the press and TV to give them exceptional images of the film that they can broadcast on release. Lucie DE CHEVIGNY also discussed the film's promotional strategy, including the calendar with the release date for the film, poster and trailer. She mentioned the importance of taking into account the actors' schedules, current events and availability in the film's promotional process.

L'Aventure d'un Long Métrage is a series of Masterclasses organized around a film, in which students from the DHEC - Département des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques - Screenwriting/Directing and Production/Distribution departments host the main post-production supervisors and actors.

Directed by Gabriel LE BOMIN, with Lambert WILSON and Isabelle CARRÉ, the biopic is released in cinemas on March 4, 2020.
