The 13th season of ESRA's Jeudis de l'ESRA came to a close with a great cinematographer. A great director of photography, to whom Jean BECKER, Patrice LECONTE and Jean-Jacques ANNAUD are loyal. It was one of the latter's films that the students were able to see: The Last Wolf. It was an opportunity to look back on an extraordinary shoot, deep in Inner Mongolia, with everyone sleeping in a yurt during the preparation. Jean-Marie DREUJOU went into great detail about certain scenes, including the particularly spectacular one of the wolves attacking a herd of horses. Although the film was shown in 2D, many questions focused on the 3D shooting required by the Chinese production. Questions often concerned technical aspects, as there were quite a few 2nd year students intending to go into photography in 3rd year. But Jean-Marie DREUJOU didn't only work on Le Dernier loup, and he spoke at length about his collaboration with other filmmakers, starting with Patrice LECONTE. While acknowledging that he would need to attract filmmakers of a different age bracket if he wanted to work for many more years...
