Every year since 2013, ESRA Côte d'Azur has hosted a masterclass dedicated to film dubbing in partnership with Université Côte d'Azur.
Dubbing requires the involvement of several professionals: detector(s), author(s), actor(s), artistic director(s), sound engineer(s). This course highlights the interweaving of these different professions.
On February 27 and 28, third-year ISTS students at ESRA Côte d'Azur, students in the Audiovisual Translation Master's program at Université Côte d'Azur and two professional actors worked in real-life situations on several film extracts and on the short film "When" directed at ESRA New York by Adrien ROUX (ESRA 2013).
Two actors lent their voices this year; Vincent VIOLETTE: the regular French voice of John TURTURRO and a recurring voice of Gary OLDMAN andAndy GARCIA, he is notably the French voice of Professor Quirrell in "Harry Potter à l'école des sorciers". Marie Madeleine BURGUET is the voice of Lee JEONG EUN in "Parasite", best foreign film at the 2020 César Awards.
