ESRA Côte d'Azur welcomed filmmaker Jean-Xavier DE LESTRADE on April 5 at the Georges Méliès campus in Cannes.
Author of numerous documentaries, TV series and feature films, Jean-Xavier DE LESTRADE won the Oscar for Best Documentary Film in 2002 for Un Coupable Idéal.
In 2019, he will direct the series Jeux d'influence for Arte, in which he tackles the subject of lobbies and agrochemical multinationals. The first episodes of the next season have just been presented at Cannes Séries 2022. Given the diversity of film forms he has encountered, he was able to explain to the students why he chose a fiction series to tackle this topical issue.
