Director and screenwriter Charlotte SILVERA was the first guest of season 18 of ESRA Thursdays, on October 28, 2021 at the Jean RENOIR amphitheater.
After viewing C'est la tangente que je préfère, the students met the director, who shared her vision of cinema. For her, cinema is a means of expression and transmission to the audience. She is very sensitive to the public and takes to heart the need to leave a lasting impression.
Charlotte SILVERA has never been an assistant, but has always written screenplays, including many documentaries. She told the students that she has started and abandoned many projects. She's drawn to creating characters and directing actors; the emotion they exude dazzles her. She loves working alongside young people to teach them, and gives young actors a chance.
The students questioned the director about her personal creative process and time management, as well as her commitment to and fight for women. She was one of the first to fight for women to be able to direct and appear in films.
