Producer and screenwriter Sylvie PIALAT met ESRA students at the Jeudis de l'ESRA on December 1. Guillaume NICLOUX's film Valley of Love was shown to the students before the meeting.

Sylvie PIALAT began working as a stage manager on the film À nos amours by Maurice PIALAT, with whom she continued to work until his death. In 2003, she launched her own production company, Les Films du Worso. She produced her first documentary, Un voyage chez les Woodabés, directed by Marie-Laure DE DECKER. Sylvie PIALAT also produced Timbuktu by Adberrahmane SISSAKO, which won seven Césars in 2015, and three films by Alain GUIRAUDIE, selected at Cannes.

The producer talked to the students about her job, and in particular about the difference between producing a documentary for television or cinema, or a fiction film. The students asked many questions about filming abroad and financing.
