Yesterday, October 16, ESRA launched the 12th season of Jeudis de l'ESRA by welcoming film director Thierry KLIFA after the screening of his film " Les yeux de sa mère" .
Thierry KLIFA spoke at length about his love of the cinema, even though he came from a family with no connection to the industry. He first managed to become part of the editorial team of Studio magazine in its heyday, meeting a large number of filmmakers and actors with the idea of taking his turn at directing. This was achieved with a first short film with Danielle DARRIEUX - the first time the great lady of the cinema had appeared in a short film - followed by three feature films and two stage productions.
Thierry KLIFA also dwelt on his love of actors, but also on the recurring themes in his films and the dramatic and even melodramatic tone he likes to instill in them. The students' questions were particularly numerous, extending beyond the 90 minutes of the master class, and focusing more on the filmmaker's world and his professional itinerary than on the purely technical.
