Last Thursday, at the Jean Renoir amphitheater, ESRA welcomed screenwriter Gilles TAURAND.
As a screenwriter, Gilles TAURAND reunited in the mid-90s with André TECHINE, with whom he had already co-written "Hôtel des Amériques", to co-write "Les Voleurs " and "Les Roseaux sauvages" (for which he won a César for Best Screenplay). At the same time, "Nettoyage à sec" (dry cleaning ) by Anne FONTAINE won him a screenplay prize at the Venice Film Festival.
The film shown before the debate was "Les voleurs", starring Daniel AUTEUIL and Catherine DENEUVE.
Synopsis: Alex, a policeman, is seen as a traitor by his gangster family. Attracted by Juliette, a young thief, he nevertheless begins an affair with her, unaware that she also knows his brother, Ivan, who wants her to join his group of car thieves.
