On November 15, ESRA welcomed director Coline SERREAU to its amphitheater for a screening of her 2001 film " Chaos", the seventh of her eleven feature-length films. The film may be full of fantasy, but it describes a particularly harsh reality. A perfect example of the work of this filmmaker, who has never ceased to campaign for feminist, ecological or libertarian ideas, but through films aimed at the widest possible audience.
Coline Serreau spoke to the students about her approach to writing and directing, and her eclectic career path (from the Conservatoire de Musique to the Ecole du Cirque). She insisted on the need to talk about serious matters through films in which fantasy is central. She also declared her enthusiasm for digital technology, which has changed her vision of cinema.
