Nicolas BARY at ESRA Thursdays

November 2017
Nicolas BARY at Jeudis de lESRA

ESRA alumnus Nicolas BARY introduced himself to the students on Thursday, November 30, 2017. He had already visited us a little over ten years ago. At the time, he was preparing his first feature film, Les Enfants de Timpelbachthe film that was screened this evening. But he had already signed several short films, which he had defended with talent.

Ten years later, he has three feature films to his credit. And his passion for cinema remains intact. It's a passion he made contagious during his meeting with the students, and during the dinner that followed with some of them. A fan of Terry GILLIAM and Jean-Jacques ANNAUD, Nicolas BARY is one of those people who think big and enjoy tales more than chronicles. As a result, the students' questions focused more on form than substance. All the technical issues were addressed, from preparation (storyboards, animatics) to post-production (greedy for digital effects). But the ESRA students were also curious about the itinerary of the man who preceded them on the school benches. But no two paths are the same, and it's all a matter of talent, insight and imagination - all things Nicolas BARY is not lacking in.
