ESRA had the pleasure of welcoming music producer David LE ROY (ISTS 2000) on Thursday, October 24, 2019, for a masterclass in artistic direction for students in ISTS 3rd year music option.
Originally from New Caledonia, David LE ROY decided to come to Paris to attend ISTS. Fresh degree the school's Son Musical option, he formed the group Daddy Dj with Jean Christophe BELVAL (ESRA 1992), whom he met at the school, and in 1999 produced a single that sold over 2.5 million copies throughout Europe.
He then turned to producing and promoting the group worldwide, before moving on to composing music for images. In particular, he produced numerous musical packages for France Télévisions and Canal +, as well as documentaries such as Des racines et Des Ailes.
In 2010, David LE ROY returned to New Caledonia and set up "Ze Source", a sound communication and sound design agency. He also develops artists and works with local media.
In his talk, David Le Roy reviewed his career and shared his experience of music production.
