Ludovick TARTAVEL (ISTS 2006) Sound Mixer and Director was the guest on Mardi de l'ISTS on December 13, 2022, hosted by Jean-Christophe BELVAL.

Ludovick TARTAVEL began playing guitar at the age of 6 and took music theory lessons. He played in a number of bands of very different genres. He went on to study science, then entered the Conservatoire with a desire to link his work to music, but without being a musician. He prefers the technical side of sound, recording and sound matter, and decides to continue with ISTS. Between his second and third years at ISTS, he did his first internship at Studio de la Grande. He then interned at Plus Trente, where he began his career. In 2008, he returned to the Studio de la Grande Armée, where he still works today.

Ludovick TARTAVEL told the students about his career path, from assistant to sound engineer. He offered encouragement and practical advice. For their part, the students talked about his collaborations with major artists on important projects such as Pheonix, Francis Cabrel, Johny Hallyday, Kanye West and Woodkid. At the same time, he has been working on film scores for Jacques AUDIARD's De Rouille et d'os and Michel HAZANAVICIUS's The Artist. Today, Ludovick TARTAVEL specializes in immersive mixing (Dolby Atmos and 360 Reality Audio), a new standard for broadcasting on digital and streaming platforms, and has over 500 titles mixed with this format.
