ESRA Paris was delighted to welcome Stéphane Brizé on Wednesday, as part of the "L'Aventure d'un long métrage" project run by DHEC students.
immersion in "L'Aventure d'un long métrage" (The Adventure of a Feature Film)
Every year, DHEC students take part in the "Feature Film Adventure" program , during which they meet in turn with the main post editors of a film in post-production.
The creative and production staff of a given film come to talk about their work and engage in dialogue with the students, who exchange views with the director, scriptwriter, actors, producer, assistant director, cinematographer, script supervisor, costume designer, set designer and editor.
This scheme gives students a hands-on immersion in the various stages of making a film, at a time when the script, editing or even the title are not yet finalized.
Shooting on Stéphane Brizé's next film, Un Bon Petit Soldat, was completed in July 2025, and will be the subject of this year's Aventure d'un Long Métrage with DHEC students.
A humanist and committed filmmaker
Stéphane Brizé is a French director and screenwriter acclaimed for his humanist and social cinema, marked by intimate narratives and outstanding acting performances.
Among his most memorable works La Loi du marché (Best Actor Award for Vincent Lindon - Cannes Film Festival 2015) and At War (Official Selection Cannes 2018) aptly explore the tensions of the contemporary world.
Winner of two Césars in 2016 (Best Film and Best Director for La Loi du marché), he confirmed his status as a committed filmmaker with Une zone à défendre (2023), which won a prize at Venice, and Un monde (2021), which takes a sensitive look at family and social issues.
This rich and inspiring meeting enabled DHEC students to benefit from a privileged exchange with a great name in French cinema, true to ESRA's mission: to train the talents of tomorrow through transmission and concrete experience.
