Jean-Pierre DARROUSSIN is the second comedian to attend the Jeudis de l'ESRA, after François BERLEAND a few years ago.
This gave him the opportunity to talk about the actor's work and his relationship with directors from a slightly different angle than the one usually put forward, and with a new acuity. Of course, he insisted on his work with Robert GUEDIGUIAN, with whom he has filmed sixteen times, speaking of a "film troupe" as others do of a theater troupe. Mixing fundamental questions about his long association with the filmmaker, with whom he has a more than privileged bond (they were even born on the same day), with anecdotes that speak volumes (the way he saved the life of Ariane ASCARIDE on the set of Marie-Jo et ses deux amours, who was about to drown), he ended up answering relatively few questions, each one provoking a nourishing development. In the end, the session lasted two hours... Jean-Pierre DARROUSSIN also talked about his experience as a theater actor, revealing that it took him some time to give as much importance to cinema as to live performance. He even took his turn behind the camera for Le Pressentiment. He is currently working on his second feature film. The topic of the future of French cinema was finally broached, as the actor has been very apprehensive since the adoption of the collective bargaining agreement.
