Jean-François STEVENIN, at his ESRA Thursday, commented on his long career in the service of his passion for cinema.
As a student at the HEC business school, he was lucky enough to meet François TRUFFAUT. What followed was a long and fruitful collaboration with the man behind Les 400 coups, starting with The Mississippi Mermaid. STEVENIN was an efficient assistant, and made himself indispensable. It was TRUFFAUT who allowed him to step in front of the camera, offering him a handsome role in L'Argent de poche. JFS's acting career was launched. To date, the actor's silhouette has appeared in over 170 films, both for the cinema and the small screen. Few leading roles, but a sense of familiarity for the general public. But the actor also wanted to direct. He has signed three feature films, with a fourth in the pipeline. It's not much, but our man is very busy, and his films, always very personal in form and content, require a long gestation period, the fruit of his encounters, readings and life experiences. These precepts of generosity are evident in his films, which are both well-prepared and an unusual adventure to make.
