On January 30, ESRA welcomed Production Director Sylvie BARTHET to its Jean RENOIR amphitheater, following the screening of Olivier ASSAYAS' film "Boarding Gate".
Sylvie BARTHET talked about her various experiences with French and American directors, and the difficulties encountered on certain shoots, particularly those shared between several countries, such as such as"Boarding Gate". She also talked about her various collaborations with directors, including some with Olivier ASSAYAS to her current one-off collaboration with Léos CARAX or Brian DE PALMA, highlighting the difference between her profession in France and the USA, but also the way in which films are financed and the different implications this has for the Production Manager.
