Competitive entry

To enter the ESRA Cinéma, Son et Animation programs, candidates take a series of tests, both common and specific to each specialization.

The exam consists of a QCM general knowledge test, a motivational test (letter, newspaper, video, etc.), and a individual interview.

In addition, there is a analysis test adapted to the chosen field: film analysis for cinema, sound analysis for sound, image analysis for animation.

Admission to DHEC Scénario/Réalisation and DHEC Production is based on a more in-depth process.

Applicants must submit a cover letter, take part in a personal interview and pass a written test including a film analysis.

Each specialty also includes a specific test:

• For DHEC Scriptwriting/Directing : a screenwriting exercise
• For DHEC Production : a dissertation on a subject related to cinema or economics.
