Les Jeudis de l'ESRA welcomed producer Marc MISSONNIER to the Jean Renoir amphitheatre yesterday.

Marc MISSONNIER is one half of the tandem with Olivier DELBOSC at Fidélité Production. This twenty-year-old company first produced the short films of François OZON, a fellow student at the Femis (where both co-producers studied), before going on to sign other short films, thenOZON 's first feature films, and finally other feature films. Today, Fidélité produces three or four films a year, films that rarely go unnoticed, such asAudrey DANA 's recent debut Sous les jupes des filles. Marc MISSONNIER answered many questions from a small audience. Not much about the state of production today, or the differences with producers working abroad. On the other hand, there were plenty of questions about some of the films produced by Fidélité, Enter the void (Gaspar NOE has his fans), A Promise (the film by Patrice LECONTE screened before the masterclass, which not all students enjoyed) or Asterix and Obelix: Serving Her Majesty (which cost a lot of money, and our guest regrets that it was made in 3D). Finally, our guest's advice to production students: focus on a project rather than a structure. There's no point in setting up a company if you don't have a film to produce...
