Emmanuelle BERCOT admits that she got into the Fémis by chance, but that doesn't mean she didn't work hard to get in.
She wasn't a classic film buff, and it was only gradually that her film culture took shape. But cinema is her passion, at least when she's involved in a project. However, she would never say that she would "die if she stopped shooting". As a screenwriter (including for others), actress (especially in other people's films) and director, Emmanuelle BERCOT does a bit of everything. " Elle s'en va " , the film that was screened before her arrival, is something of a consecration. Both because it benefits from the presence of a very big star, Catherine DENEUVE and because it takes the form of a rather complicated road movie, with a large number of sets and many non-professional actors. The beauty of the film lies in the confrontation between a star and these "real people" , often from the provinces. Answering numerous questions, the filmmaker acknowledged her shortcomings (she is embarrassed when it comes to inserting music into her films), but insisted on the tremendous energy exchanged on set between the director and the crew.
