An Evening Dedicated to Cinema with Philippe Lacheau
On October 8, ESRA students had the opportunity to meet Philippe Lacheau, a leading figure in French comedy, as part of the “ESRA Thursdays” series, held in the Jean Renoir lecture hall on the Beaugrenelle campus in Paris.
A director, actor, and screenwriter, Philippe Lacheau has made a name for himself with the general public through comedies such as *Babysitting*, *Alibi.com*, and *Superhero Against His Will*.
This meeting gave the students an opportunity to learn about his career path and explore the various aspects of his profession, from the design phase of a project through to its completion.
Babysitting: A Screening Before the Game
The evening began with a screening of *Babysitting*, the first feature film co-directed by Philippe Lacheau and Nicolas Benamou, which was released in 2014.
This comedy, which helped bring Philippe Lacheau and his team to the attention of the general public, served as the starting point for the discussion held after the screening.
The screening gave students the opportunity to rediscover the film on the big screen before speaking directly with one of its creators.
A special exchange with ESRA students
After the screening, Philippe Lacheau joined the students for a discussion about his career path and his experience in the film industry.
An opportunity for aspiring film and audiovisual professionals to engage with a renowned director and actor and to gain insight into the creative professions from his perspective.
This event is fully in line with ESRA’s educational approach, which places great emphasis on interaction between students and industry professionals.
ESRA Thursdays: Opportunities to Connect with Industry Professionals Up Close
