A discussion on the acting profession at ESRA Paris
The third edition of “D’Entrée de Jeu” took place on the ESRA Paris campus on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00 p.m.
Organized by Format Court, in partnership with ESRA, this event aimed to shed light on the acting profession through the perspectives and experiences of actors from diverse backgrounds.
Art-house cinema, international productions, short films, television series, and even theater: the worlds represented at this event reflect the diversity of career paths and forms of expression in on-screen acting.
six actors with remarkable careers
For this third edition, D’Entrée de Jeu has spotlighted six artists whose careers exemplify the richness of contemporary cinema.
Idir Azougli, who made his breakthrough in Jean-Bernard Marlin’s *Shéhérazade*, notably stood out in Agathe Riedinger’s *Diamant brut* and Hubert Charuel’s *Météors*, the latter of which earned him a 2026 César Award nomination for Best New Actor.
Valentin Campagne, who trained at the Cours Florent and then at Studio ESCA, appeared in Cédric Klapisch’s *La Venue de l’avenir* and Dominik Moll’s *Dossier 137 *. He also won an award at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival for his performance in Lukas Dhont’s *Les Braves *.
Sébastien Chassagne, an actor and director, rose to fame with the general public thanks to his leading role in the series *Irresponsable*. He has since collaborated with numerous filmmakers, including Hirokazu Kore-eda, Mia Hansen-Løve, and Michel Leclerc.
Salomé Dewaels, a Belgian actress who first came to prominence in Xavier Giannoli’s *Illusions perdues*, continues her career in both film and television. Her performance in Pauline Loquès’s *Nino* earned her the 2026 René Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Félix Kysyl, a graduate of the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique de Paris, made a name for himself in Alain Guiraudie’s *Miséricorde*, a role for which he was nominated for a César Award. His career has also led him to work with Philippe Garrel, Michel Hazanavicius, and Antonin Baudry.
Lou Lampros, who made her breakthrough in Antoinette Boulat’s *Ma nuit* and was selected as one of the “Revelations” at the 2023 César Awards, has continued her career in films such as Gaël Morel’s *Vivre, mourir, renaître* and Élie Wajeman’s *Comète *.
Dialogues at the Heart of Filmmaking
Through its format of cross-dialogues, *D’Entrée de Jeu* offers a collective perspective on the acting profession by bringing together figures from different backgrounds and generations.
The event provides an opportunity to explore the many facets of acting: the craft of acting, artistic collaborations, the diversity of projects, and the evolution of a career in film.
For ESRA, hosting this type of event is part of its commitment to fostering exchanges between film professionals and the next generation of creators and audiovisual technicians.
