AMERICA (2018), the new documentary by Claus DREXEL (ESRA 1994) is nominated for the César for Best Documentary Film.

As part of the 44th César Awards ceremony, the documentary AMERICA is one of the 5 films shortlisted.

After graduating from ESRA in 1994, Claus DREXEL began his career with three short films: C4 (1996), MAX AU BLOC (1998), LA DIVINE INSPIRATION (2000) before releasing the comedy FAMILY AFFAIR (2008), winner of the Trophées du Premier Scénario du CNC and "Prix Tournage" for Best European Film at the Avignon Film Festival.

In 2013, he directed AU BORD DU MONDE (2013), his first documentary dealing with the subject of the Parisian homeless, a film presented in the ACID program at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013. It received the "La Croix" award for best documentary in 2014 and was nominated for the Louis-Delluc prize the same year.

AMERICA is his 3rd feature film, shot in northern Arizona during the 2016 US presidential election.
